Multi-passionates in the age of AI

As a creative, and as a person really, the rise of AI is something to be concerned about. It means change. It means innovation. It means uncertainty. But it also means new. It means possibilities. It means transformation. It means different.
In the past couple of months we've seen the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence. Since the launch of Chatgpt in 2022, countless of people have benefited from this powerful tool, including myself. We have also seen the downsides of AI, such as its impact on the job market. AI has certainly replaced some jobs, and while it will continue to do so, one as a creative must ask: what will happen to us, creators and multi-passionates?
The more I explore this creative world, the more I realize that while AI will replace many things, it will and can not replace one thing: love. And I'm not talking about it in the cheesy, romantic-couple type of way, but in the "people will continue to love and experience feelings and emotions, something AI cannot do" type of way. What I mean by this is that people will continue to pursue what brings them joy and fulfillment, whether it's web design, coaching, painting, filmmaking, or writing—whatever it is that they truly love. While AI will facilitate our life, it will not replace the passion and love that grows out of what we do.
For us multi-passionates, this means that in a world where information is instantly accessible and tasks can be automated, we will keep striving for what we are passionate about. Because it’s the happiness that comes from creating—from making something with your own hands and heart—that truly matters. Yes, AI can make an illustration exactly the way you envision it, but if the point of creating is the joy and fulfillment it brings, what’s the point of letting AI do it for us?
We as multi-passionates are driven by our love for our interests, hobbies and passions. We create not just for the outcome, but for the process itself. And people are drawn to that—they want to work with individuals who pour their heart into their craft, not a machine simply executing commands. When people see that passion and dedication, they’ll choose to work with you over a computer-generated solution every time. At the end of the day we ARE social beings; our hunger for connection will always be there. So if we continue to do what we love, not only will our heart be happy, but we will also attract the right opportunities, connections, and people.
Passion is valuable. And I believe AI is here to show us that true happiness is simply the sum of everything we love; of everything we do. AI can replace many things, but it will never, ever replace passion. And what is life without it?
